HLWW welcomes back one of Highlander’s most passionate, erudite ambassadors as David Abramowitz returns to the convention stage…
David is seen by many Highlander fans as the heart and soul of the expanding mythology envisioned in the hit film’s spin-off series. He served as Creative Consultant and famously described the attraction of being involved with the show (both to himself and to the audience) as being connected to a series that dealt with ‘talmudic ass-kicking’.
As well as Highlander and its spin-off The Raven, David’s long and distinguished career in television includes being a writer/producer on Jake and the Fatman, Executive Producer on The Yellow Rose, the Story Editor on both the original versions of V and MacGyver and the show-runner on The Lost World.
During his many year in the business, he has written for a whole range of other memorable shows including Cagney & Lacey, 21 Jump Street, Spenser for Hire and Murder She Wrote. He was also reunited with good friends and Highlander stars Peter Wingfield and Valentine Pelka for Queen of Swords, shot on location in Spain.
Since Highlander: The Series finished its run, David has maintained his strong links with the franchise, working on Highlander: The Raven in 1999 and involved to various extents on potential spin-off projects and the subsequent films. He wrote the anime film Highlander: Vengeance and War of the Worlds: Goliath, a sequel to the classic sf tale and featuring the voice talents of Adrian Paul, Peter Wingfield, Elizabeth Gracen and Jim Byrnes.
He has attended a majority of our HLWW conventions, travelling to the UK, Australia and Canada and is delighted to be coming back to meet the fans in LA in October.
