As well as joining us as a guest for the full weekend, Elizabeth Gracen will be running another of her fan-kata classes, similar to the ones that she has conducted at our previous events, and bringing the art and skill she learned during filming of Highlander: The Raven into play.
Though Highlander had a primary focus on swords, it also explored other martial-arts and techniques and Elizabeth was lucky enough to train with Master Helen Wu in the art of the ‘Flying Rainbow Fan’ when she filmed the series. They actually performed together in the flashback seen in the episode A Matter of Time which was shot in Toronto.
The class will run from Noon to approximately 2:00pm on the Friday (20th) and will include a free fan which can be used in the class (and can be used thereafter to defend yourself form ninjas or just to keep cool in the Californian sun!)
