Highlander WorldWide welcomes back the one and only Donna Lettow for another HLWW event, albeit a virtual one…
Donna is a graduate of the Information Accessibility Design & Policy program at the University of Illinois and serves as Digital Accessibility Administrator for the State of Maryland… Wait, this isn’t the 2017 ICT Accessibility Testing Symposium? *pauses* Pulls out 5 ¼” floppy disk. Blows off dust…
Donna joined the writing staff of Highlander: The Series at the beginning of its third season as Script Coordinator when David Abramowitz asked Gillian Horvath if there were ‘any more like her at home…‘ who could fill the role when Gillian became an Associate Creative Consultant. Donna later served as Associate Creative Consultant herself but, contrary to alt.tv.highlander fan lore, was not personally responsible for the death of Richie Ryan.
She worked on many of the Highlander ancillary projects, like the Highlander: The Watcher Chronicles CD-ROM encyclopedias and the special features for the Highlander: The Series and Highlander: The Raven DVD releases.
Donna’s first novel, Highlander: Zealot, was published in 1997 and in 2000 she was excited to add An Evening at Joe’s to her list of publications. After Highlander she worked on several CBS series as well as on films like Inspector Gadget. She created a pilot about Appalachian midwives for PAX-TV and spent the coldest Saskatchewan winter in 122 years as part of the writing staff for the PBS/CBC family fantasy adventure drama series MythQuest. (And let’s not talk about the NC-17 gothic fantasy soap opera series she hopes her family never sees!)
In 2004, Donna returned to Baltimore to care for family. Currently, she uses her over-developed sense of fair play (and drama) to advocate for the inclusion of people with disabilities in the digital world.
