Story: After the death of Heather, Connor MacLeod (Christophe Lambert) travelled the world, taking in the culture and fighting styles of the different regions he visited. He finds himself in Japan and becomes a student of an Immortal named Nakano (Mako Iwamatsu), a master of illusion as well as the sword.
However MacLeod isn’t the only Immortal to have found his way to Nakano’s home. Kane (Mario Van Peebles) and his henchmen arrive at the mountain retreat, burning a nearby village to the ground in their wake.
Nakano is decapitated by Kane, but the resulting Quickening brings down the mountain on all of them. MacLeod survives but believes he is the only one to make it out ‘alive’.
It’s 1994 and after the death of his wife Brenda in a car accident, Connor is now living with his adopted son John in Marrakesh. In Japan, an archaeologist named Alex Johnson (Deborah Unger) is examining ancient remains found under the mountainside and is mystified when she finds a piece of Scottish tartan.
The excavation of the mountain releases Kane, returned to life after centuries of being under the rubble. Now Kane sets out to find the Immortal who left him for dead… Connor MacLeod.
Realising he is no longer the ‘last’ Immortal, Connor leaves John in the care of a friend, and readies himself for an inevitable confrontation.
But with the ruthless Kane able to call on the abilities of the sorcerer Nakano and finding ways to undermine him at every turn… and with Alex bearing an uncanny resemblance to a woman Connor met and lost in Revolutionary France, Connor has everything to fight for and everything to lose…
